Lead Robotic Welder and Programmer
Fraser Steel is seeking a hands-on Lead Robotic Welder and Programmer to oversee welding operations. Opportunities are available across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient production, high-quality welding, and the ongoing development of our weld team. This is a safety sensitive position.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and mentor welders
- Program, set up, and optimize robotic welding systems
- Oversee part quality and inspect welds for accuracy and consistency
- Troubleshoot and prevent equipment downtime
- Evaluate part rates for accuracy and improve processes when needed
- Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety procedures
- Collaborate with Engineering to develop reliable, high-quality fixtures
- Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning at peak performance
- Work with Scheduling to increase run sizes, with a focus on 2nd shift output
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with various welding equipment
- MIG and TIG welding proficiency with ability to meet quality standards
- Strong blueprint and work instruction reading skills
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve welding and production issues
- Knowledge of weld process setup and adherence
- Basic computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Prior supervisory or lead experience required

Experienced Laser Operator
Fraser Steel is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Experienced Laser Operator to join our team. In this role, you will manage the company’s laser equipment and oversee personnel on the 2nd shift. This includes providing guidance to laser operators and ensuring the efficient, safe, and productive use of all laser machinery. This is a safety sensitive position.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and train laser operators
- Ensure quality of parts produced
- Proactively prevent downtime of equipment
- Oversee pre-production builds
- Evaluate rates for obtainability and correct processes or rates as necessary
- Ensure laser programs are created and maintained per SOP
- Program all new parts
- Maintain safe work environment by following all procedures
Other Responsibilities:
- Work with engineers to ensure good fixtures
- Work with maintenance to ensure equipment is consistently maintained and running efficiently
- Work with scheduling to provide larger run sizes, especially for 2nd shift
Required Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of experience working with a variety of lasers
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and work instructions
- Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Basic experience with Microsoft Computer Programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to use computers and basic programs for documentation
- Excellent communication abilities
- Organizational skills

Quality Technician
Fraser Steel is seeking a skilled 1st Shift Quality Technician. In this role you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our commitment to exceptional quality standards. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all inspections are carried out accurately, aligning with product quality specifications and exceeding customer requirements. Essential Functions:
- Inspects parts that are being produced
- Provide support to production operations constantly ensuring operators have necessary parts
- Ability to effectively read quality control equipment; Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gage, Radius Gage, Protractors, etc.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Software including Outlook, Word and Excel
Other Responsibilities:
- Maintain work center organization
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machines and other related equipment to consistently drive efficiency and high-quality parts
- Follow all safety rules of the company
Required Qualifications:
- High School/G.E.D. education
- 2+ years of experience in a Quality role
- Able to follow quality standards and procedures
- High attention to detail
- Ability to balance multiple concurrent projects and prioritize needs, and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels within the company
- Ability to use computers and basic programs to document
- Physical strength required to handle and move parts, boxes, equipment, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in steel tube industry
- Able to read prints
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations is a plus
- Problem solver who identifies opportunities for improvement with solution paths

Engineering Manager
Fraser Steel is seeking a skilled 1st Shift Quality Technician. In this role you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our commitment to exceptional quality standards. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Ensure the Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales Departments work together effectively. Manage and direct the Tool Room and Maintenance personnel. This is a safety sensitive position.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise Tool Room and Maintenance employees
- Supervise, along with Production Manager, the technical and engineering staff
- Manage and purchase plant consumable inventories
- Manage engineering projects (i.e. customer product launches, process changes, capital acquisitions, plant layouts, . . .)
- Design appropriate fixtures to ensure final product meets customer requirements
- Assign and manage prototype builds
- Work with sales to determine the best routing on new quotations, provide expected production rates on applicable equipment, and work up tooling, fixturing, and/or other miscellaneous costs.
- Maintain “pre-production” build list and lead technical team for success
- Write detailed processes for existing and new jobs that go into production
- Monitor and implement continuous improvement on existing processes
- Work with all existing and new customers
- Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings
Required Qualifications:
- 5 + years manufacturing experience preferably Tube fabrication or general fabrication
- S. Degree or equivalent experience
- Solidworks proficiency
- Computer literacy
- Mechanical aptitude
- CAD software experience (Solidworks)
- Hands-on attitude
- Blueprint reading knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
